After purchasing your TPASS, please visit the designated registration section on the card issuer’s official website and complete your information (including ID number, date of birth, mobile number, and TPASS card number). Once you receive confirmation from the card issuer, or after three days, you may visit any of the four major convenience store chains. Ask the store clerk to scan your card to collect the NT$100 top-up subsidy provided by the Highway Bureau. Each person is eligible to claim this subsidy only once. For cardholders who have completed registration, the deadline for claiming the NT$100 top-up subsidy will follow the announcement made by the respective card issuer.

When tapping your card at bus, MRT, or Taiwan Railway fare gates or card readers, the display screen will show the TPASS validity period.
Yes. The TPASS must be activated within 30 days of purchase. If not activated within this period, it cannot be used and must be refunded through designated sales channels.
When using a TPASS, please follow the tapping procedures required by each transport system. If a TPASS becomes locked due to incorrect tapping, it can be automatically unlocked the next time it is used on Taichung Metro, local city buses, or highway buses. If it becomes locked while using Taiwan Railway Station (TR), please visit a TR station to have it unlocked. No stored-value balance will be deducted when unlocking.
When taking the Taichung MRT, please enter through the TPASS-designated gates. Always tap your card on the reader of each transport mode when boarding, alighting, entering, exiting, or renting/returning a public bicycle to avoid your card being locked.
After purchasing a TPASS with your electronic card, simply tap the card on the reader of the metro, bus, or Taiwan Railway (TR) fare gate the first time you travel. This will automatically activate the TPASS. (Please note that the TPASS cannot be activated through the card sensor area on public bicycles.)
