Each time you board or alight from the bus, you must open the Citizen Exclusive Ride Code in the Taichung Go App, hold the Citizen Exclusive Ride Code (QR code) toward the ticket validator scanner and scan it. Once the scan is successful, you can enjoy the Citizen Exclusive Double Ten Bus Discount.

Reminder：

• The optimal scanning distance is approximately 10 cm. Remove your phone only after hearing a beep sound or seeing a successful scan notification. If the ticket validator does not respond when scanning the Citizen Exclusive Ride Code, try adjusting the distance, position, or brightness of your phone screen (recommended to set brightness to the maximum).
• The Citizen Exclusive Ride Code must be used within 2 minutes after generation. If expired, you will need to generate a new code.
• If the Taichung Go App fails to display the Citizen Exclusive Ride Code, please check whether your device is connected to the internet and ensure that your phone has sufficient storage space. How to Apply for the Citizen Exclusive Taichung Transport Card?

In-Person Binding

Step 1: Prepare identification documents in advance

• Registered Taichung Residents: Must present the original National Identification Card (NID).
  Minors must obtain consent from their legal guardian and present the original National Identification Card for processing. If the minor has not yet applied for a National Identification Card, they may substitute it with the original National Health Insurance Card along with either the Household Certificate or the Household Registration Transcript.
• Foreign, Mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macau spouses of registered Taichung residents: Must present a valid original R.O.C. (Taiwan) Resident Certificate along with their spouse’s original National Identification Card, Household Certificate, or Household Registration Transcript.
• Students who are not registered residents of Taichung but are enrolled in schools within Taichung City (up to and including universities and colleges): Must present the original National Identification Card along with a valid student ID or enrollment certificate that confirms their student status. For international students, a passport may be used as a substitute for the National Identification Card.
  (Minors must obtain consent from their legal guardian and present the original National Identification Card for processing. If the minor has not yet applied for a National Identification Card, they may substitute it with the original National Health Insurance Card along with either the Household Certificate or the Household Registration Transcript.)
• Individuals holding an Alien Permanent Resident Certificate (APRC) must have their registered address on the APRC listed in Taichung City.

Travel Reminder

• If the balance in your payment method is below the minimum fare allowed by the transport operator (0 NTD or more for Taichung city buses), boarding will not be permitted.
• When using the Citizen Exclusive Ride Code to alight, if the fare for that trip exceeds the balance in your payment method, the electronic payment provider will cover the amount once, and your payment balance will show a negative value, with the covered amount automatically deducted upon your next top-up. If you do not top up, you will not be able to use the Citizen Exclusive Ride Code for future rides.
• Friendly Reminder: When using the Citizen Exclusive Ride Code to ride the MRT, fares will be charged at the full ticket price according to the announced rates.
• The Citizen Exclusive Ride Code is for personal use only and may not be copied or transferred to others in any way; otherwise, it will be considered fare evasion, and passengers will be required to pay the fare difference or a penalty in accordance with the regulations of the respective transport operators.

• Priority Use of Senior Card: Since the Citizen Exclusive Ride Code does not currently support the Senior & Disability Card benefit points, if you use the Citizen Exclusive Ride Code for trips exceeding 10 km, the fare will be deducted according to the current bus fare system.
