1.Non-registered electronic cards (including co-branded cards) cannot be reported as lost.
2.For registered electronic cards (including co-branded cards), in case of loss, theft, robbery, fraud, or possession by a third party, the cardholder must follow the procedures set by the card issuer to report the loss. Because electronic card transactions are not processed in real time, the cardholder will be responsible for any loss incurred within 3 hours after the loss report is confirmed.
3.After reporting the loss to the card issuer, based on card refund regulations, the refund for the TPASS will be calculated based on the number of days elapsed from the activation date to the loss report date, minus a NT$ 20 handling fee. The refund will be processed through the current refund channels for registered electronic cards and returned to the cardholder via refund notification, bank transfer, or included in the bank statement.
If your electronic card cannot be read despite being intact and undamaged, please contact the customer service hotline of your card issuer for assistance.
Please avoid staining, bending, scratching, abrading, exposing to high temperatures, or twisting your card. If the card becomes unreadable due to such damage, it cannot be used for travel. If an inspection confirms that the damage was caused by human factors, the refund will be processed according to TPASS refund regulations, with the refundable amount calculated and returned to the cardholder.
For Taiwan Railway and MRT services, please visit the respective service counters for assistance. For bus fare deductions, please contact the customer service center at 04-37077988 for support.
Yes. A handling fee of NT$20 will be charged for ticket refunds.
Yes, you can still request a refund. Only the card is required; no identification documents are necessary. It is recommended to apply for the refund at the original place of purchase.
After purchasing your TPASS, please visit the designated registration section on the card issuer’s official website and complete your information (including ID number, date of birth, mobile number, and TPASS card number). Once you receive confirmation from the card issuer, or after three days, you may visit any of the four major convenience store chains. Ask the store clerk to scan your card to collect the NT$100 top-up subsidy provided by the Highway Bureau. Each person is eligible to claim this subsidy only once. For TPASS cards purchased and registered in 2023, the deadline to claim the NT$100 top-up subsidy is January 31, 2024.
The refund amount is calculated by deducting the daily usage amount for the days elapsed from the TPASS price, plus a handling fee of NT$ 20. The remaining balance will be refunded from the TPASS dedicated account (no refunds if the balance is insufficient). The aforementioned daily standard base amounts deducted are as follows:
| Plan | Day 0 | Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 | Day 4 | Day 5 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Taichung City NT$ 299 (Taichung Citizen) |
